New Draft Plan for Tysons Posted

Fairfax County Planning staff recently presented Draft Plan Text. This is the proposed planning language intended to reimagine Tysons as an urban destination in Fairfax County, rather than the cobbled together mass of highway intersections, shopping and office parks that currently exists. The Planning Commission’s Tysons Committee will now consider all of the recommendations from the staff and from the Tysons Land Use Task Force and will develop a comprehensive plan to submit to the full Planning Commission for public hearing. What do we think? Tysons Tomorrow is busy reviewing the plan – but at first read, we would prefer to see a more urban feel (taller buildings, more people, more businesses – like Clarendon or Ballston) closer to the Metro stops. We will post updated on our thoughts here – so stay tuned!
