The Debate Over Tysons Metrorail Station Names

Get Involved

Fairfax officials, landowners, and developers are debating names for eight future Metrorail stations along the silver line, including four in Tysons Corner. The Fairfax County Board of Supervisors will consider the names in January of 2011 before forwarding the names to Metro’s board for final approval. You can read more in this Washington Post article.

The proposed names for the four stations are:

1. Tysons-McLean (formerly Tysons East)
2. Tysons Boulevard (formerly Tysons 123)
3. Tysons Central (formerly Tysons Central 7)
4. Tysons-Spring Hill Road (formerly Tysons West)

If you would like to suggest names for the new Metrorail stations the Washington Post has created an interactive map.
